AN immaculate Jaguar E-Type Series II Roadster has been consigned to Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions’ early autumn sale, to be held on September 7 at Athelhampton House, near Dorchester.
The beautiful 1970 example was the subject of a professional concours restoration in 2011, which comprised a complete bodywork renovation, resulting in excellent panel fit and stunning paintwork in gun metal grey.
The interior was not ignored and has been refurbished with new red leather upholstery and red Wilton carpets. The hood is also new, in black mohair.
A full mechanical rebuild was also carried out; the 4.2 litre engine and ancillaries have been upgraded and a new five-speed Broad Sport T5 gearbox fitted.
The car is equipped with a stainless steel exhaust system, and the rear axle and drive shafts have been rebuilt using new bearings and seals. The Jaguar sits on new highly polished stainless steel wheels with new Blockley tyres.
The E-Type is an original UK-market right hand drive model supplied with its history file and has a pre-sale estimate of £110,000 to £130,000.
