A BRIGHT summer’s day brought the bidders out for Barons’ British Heritage, Classic and Sports Cars sale at Sandown Park, where barn finds and pristine British classics were definitely in favour.
Bidders keen for a new project competed over the 1971 Bristol 411 S2, the 1954 Jaguar XK140 (above), and the 1981 Morgan 4/4. This tempting trio of restorations all exceeded their guide prices, selling for £28,600, £16,775 and £11,600 respectively.
At the other end of the condition scale, immaculate British classics also proved popular, with a beautiful 1924 Riley 11/40 Sports Tourer (below), a 1973 Jaguar E-type V12, and a 1982 Austin Morris Mini HL Clubman all going to new homes, selling for £28,500, £36,300 and £11,000.
Other notable sales included a 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 (£15,950), a 1988 Jaguar XJS V12 convertible (£12,650), a 1965 Jaguar Mark 10 4.2 (£9,900) and a 1988 Porsche 928 S4 (£5,940).
