PART of a private collection of motor vehicles and automobilia from Oxfordshire has been consigned to Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions’ autumn sale on Thursday September 8.
The collection includes three rare motorcycles, all in need of some respectful restoration, but all in exceptionally original condition.
The earliest of the trio is a 1913 Douglas 2 ¾ hp Two Speed. There is also 1925 AJS B1 349cc, both with estimates of £4,500 – £5,500.
A Velocette 500cc Venom Thruxton Conversion of 1963 vintage finishes the line-up, and is offered with a guide price of £3,000 – £4,000.
Also from the Oxfordshire collection is a BSA Bantam frame and associated spare parts, a 1950s Errand Boy’s bicycle, and a selection of new-old stock pistons, suitable for Austin, Morris, Rover and the like.
For Bentley enthusiasts, DVCA will offer another private collection at their September auction, this time of nearly 40 lots of Bentley Mk VI spare parts.
Entries are still being invited for the sale at Athelhampton House, near Dorchester; contact Brian Chant on 01963 363353 or visit dvca.co.uk.
