DORSET Vintage and Classic Auctions’ summer sale on June 2 at Athelhampton House, near Dorchester, promises an exciting mix of cars.
Heading the line-up are two impressive sports cars: a superb 1959 Triumph TR3A (£22-£24k) with competition history; and an exceptional, ex. Win Percy 1978 Dax Tojeiro Jaguar V12 Cobra Replica Auto (£25-£28k), which would be almost impossible to replicate.
The Mini marque is well-represented by three examples: a 1968 Austin Mini Cooper Mk II and very two early Austin ‘Seven’ Mini restoration models.
Cars from the mid-20th century offered at the auction include a 1957 Ford Consul Mk II saloon, a 1954 Bentley R-Type with coachwork by Freestone and Webb, a 1955 Wolseley 4/44, a 1956 Studebaker Champion-President, and a very regal 1961 Bentley S2 Standard Steel Saloon. Complementing the Bentleys is an immaculate 1970 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I.
For those looking for a more modern classic, DVCA will offer vehicles ranging from a 1972 Lancia 2000 Berlina and a 1987 Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk I Karmann Ghia Cabriolet, to a 1998 BMW 840 Ci Sport Auto and a highly original 1998 Ford Escort Finesse 16v.
Pre-war enthusiasts will be catered for by way of a 1936 Austin 10 Lichfield four-door ‘Sunshine’ saloon and a Dorset-registered 1935 Hillman 20/70 de luxe saloon.
Finally, from a private collection of mainly Italian motorcycles come four interesting machines, including a rare Benelli and a Pokerino Scooter.
