New Year run comes of age

SOME of the vehicles that took part in the 21st annual New Year’s Day vintage and classic vehicle run from Sturminster Newton, Dorset.

After forming up for an hour-long static display in Sturminster’s main car park, the cars set off, in increasingly heavy rain, on a 38-mile tour around the highways and byways of North Dorset.

The participants stopped for a coffee break at the Tank Museum, Bovington, and finished at lunchtime at the Green Man pub in Kings Stagg.

The event was organised by the Weymouth Vehicle Preservation Society, sponsored by Harts of Stur and was raising money in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
