The Sporting Bears Motoring Club, known for its fundraising, is planning to light up this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show with a trio of million pound hypercars. The club, which is celebrating its 25th birthday this year, has now raised over £1 million for children’s charities and will be auctioning off a thrill ride in a Ferrari LaFerrari (above), McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder each day at the show, raising money for the Acorn Children’s Hospice.
An incredibly rare and special 1954 Bentley R Type Continental Fastback, one of just three right-hand drive automatic examples produced, is set to headline Silverstone Auctions’ final sale of the year at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show on the November 15-16. The late D Series car, estimated at £800,000 to £900,000, is presented in impeccable, close to concours condition having benefited from major works over the last few years.
The Alfa Romeo 4C has been named ‘Performance Car of the Year’ in the inaugural Association of Professional Motoring Press (APMP) Car and Van of the Year Awards.
Silverstone Auctions is offering the chance to own a ‘brand new’ hot hatch icon, a 1980 Talbot Lotus Sunbeam, in its auction at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show. The car is in as-new condition, has never been registered, and has covered just 193 miles in its lifetime. The left-hand drive, time warp car was part of a large private collection in Italy. Every aspect of the car is factory standard and it looks as if it has just rolled off the production line. It is estimated at between £24,000 and £28,000.
