Sporty Spider leads the way at DVCA sale

THERE is a fine selection of classic vehicles going under the hammer at the Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions’ summer sale, being held at Athelhampton House, near Dorchester, this Thursday, June 19.

A bright red left-hand-drive 1981 Fiat 124 Sport Spider by Pininfarina is expected to make between £5,500 and £6,500; a left-hand-drive 1927 Buick 48 Master Six Opera Coupe should fetch £16,000 to £ 18,000;

A right-hand-drive 1963 Ex-Works Reliant Sabre 6 GT Rally Car is estimated at £23,000 to £26,000; a 1987 Marcos Mantula 3.9 with only 15,022 miles on the clock, is expected to sell for between £12,000 and £14,000; and a red 1960 MG A 1600 Mk1 Fixedhead Coupe is guided at £12,000 to £14,000.

They are among a strong catalogue of cars, motorcycles, historic commercials and automobilia due to be sold.

Viewing is tomorrow (Wednesday) between 10am and 7pm, and Thursday between 10am and the start of the sale at 11am.
