FOR their inaugural auction at the new venue of Athelhampton House, near Dorchester, on Thursday September 19, Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions will offer a varied line-up of historic vehicles and automobilia.
From a 1917 Ford Model T Sportster and an immaculate 1967 Ford Anglia Deluxe estate, to a 1940 Leyland FK8 fire engine and a 1966 Land Rover Series 2A HCB-Angus Firefly fire engine, the cars and commercials on offer will suit all tastes and budgets.
An array of fine Jaguars includes a 1963 Mk II Saloon in need of a little TLC but with great sporting potential; a 1969 4.2 Series II E-Type Roadster, and a 1974 Series III V12 E-Type Roadster, both in excellent condition; a smart 1997 XJR 4.0 Supercharged Auto and a superbly restored XK140 3.4 Fixed Head Coupe which has been immaculately maintained.
DVCA have also consigned to the sale a 1952 Alvis TA21 Tickford Drophead Coupe, a 1963 Alvis TD21 Series II Drophead Coupe, which has remained in one family ownership from new, a superb 1995 Bentley Continental R, a late edition 1937 Riley Nine Monaco Saloon, an immaculate 1952 Riley RME and an excellent 1955 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn. There is also an exciting 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible (a bicentennial edition).
There are also a 1973 De Tomaso Pantera GT5S, examples of Land Rover, Morris Minor, Mercedes, MG and a Mini to be sold in support of St. Petroc’s Society, while leading the field of motorcycles will be two iconic Harley-Davidsons, a very rare and restored 1959 XLH 883 Sportster and a super 1997 1340cc Springer Softail.
