An incredible line-up of more than 70 stunning cars will go under the hammer at the CarFest South ‘Pride & Joy’ classic car auction. The sale, hosted by Silverstone Auctions this Sunday (August 25) at Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire, includes a 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I first owned by 1960s comedian and actor Charlie Drake, and estimated at £40,000-£45,000.

With a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and four-wheel drive system, the new Golf R is the fastest-accelerating Golf, with a 0-62mph time of 5.3 seconds or 4.9 seconds with the optional six-speed DSG gearbox. Top speed is limited to 155mph.

It features 23.75ct gold leaf-clad bodywork, silver external door handles and 24ct gold-plated internal door handles. The guide price for the rare Cadillac - part of a large private collection - starts at £85,000.

Actor Denholm Elliott was the original owner of a beautiful Mercedes-Benz 190SL, bound for auction by Historics at Brooklands on Saturday August 31. He took delivery of the brand new sporting tourer in October 1960. The pre-sale estimate is £45,000 to £55,000.
