AN interesting array of historic commercial vehicles will be offered at Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions’ spring sale on Thursday 22nd March.
Heading the line-up will be a rare Ford Model AA working tipper lorry of 1928 vintage (guide: £9,500 -£11,000) which would be very welcome at fairs and rallies.
DVCA will also offer a pretty 1958 Austin A35 van, a well-restored 1970 Morris Minor van, an unusual 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser pick-up running restoration project, a practical 1969 Morris Minor 1000 pick-up and a 1984 Dodge Commando 100 truck, converted into a fully equipped motor home, making it ideal accommodation for steam rallies and classic motoring events.
Motorcycle enthusiasts will be catered for with a 1938 AJS 38/18 500cc easy restoration project with an extensive history, and at the other end of the spectrum, a more modern, one-owner 1980 Kawasaki Z400 B2 400cc, which will also require some recommissioning.
Cars consigned to the auction range from an elegant 1937 Packard Super Eight Touring limousine and a 1947 Morgan 4/4 Series 1 Drophead Coupe restoration project, to a 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Sport, a 2000 Aston Martin DB7 V12 Vantage and many others to fit all tastes and budgets.
Retro classics include a 1960 Jaguar Mk II 3.8, 1963 Ford Anglia Deluxe saloon, a 1959 Austin A95 Westminster saloon, a 1963 Jaguar Mk II 3.4, an iconic 1963 Ford Cortina Lotus Mk I, a 1971 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller and five MGs: a 1958 Magnette ZB Varitone, a 1969 Roadster, two MGB GTs and a pretty 1964 Midget Mk II. Those who prefer prestige motoring will be impressed with the two Bentley Turbo Rs and a 2000 Daimler V8 LWB Saloon.
Finally, a shepherd’s hut will be also offered at the sale (£4,500-£5,500), which may suit those who yearn for a simpler, more bucolic way of life.
The auction will take place at the Gartell Light Railway, Common Lane, Yenston, Templecombe, Somerset. For more information, please contact Brian Chant on 01963 363353 or visit www.dvca.co.uk
