“This exciting motor car has been owned by one family for 46 years – the current custodian even learnt to drive in it,” says DVCA boss Brian Chant.
“In 2001, the Cortina Lotus underwent a restoration and since then, the car has only been enjoyed at special occasions. A considerable amount of history is supplied, including the original log book and a rare Lotus parts list, together with some useful spare parts.”
The genuine early Mk I Lotus Cortina has an estimate of £24,000 to £27,000 and would certainly be welcome at historic events such as the Silverstone Classic or Goodwood.
Further entries of cars, motorcycles, historic commercials and interesting automobilia are being invited for DVCA’s Spring Sale on Thursday 22nd March, held at the Gartell Light Railway, Yenston, near Templecombe in Somerset.
