THE opening major classic car event of 2012 has expanded and will feature a new show running alongside it.
The Footman James Great Western Autojumble will be joined by The Ford Show, both taking place at the Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet, over February 11-12.
The main autojumble has become a staple event on the classic calendar since its inception in 2009. Next year, it will feature 80+ exhibitors and traders and will take place in a dedicated hall.
Visitors will have the opportunity to pick up bargain parts and learn from experts. A special area has been reserved for private sellers of real autojumble, and for people who want to move on the parts and spares that have been blocking up their garages.
The Ford Show will feature 20 dedicated owner and enthusiast clubs in two indoor halls. On display will be the widest range of cars to include classic, modified and sports Fords. It will also feature American V8s and military versions of the marque.
Three Ford Cortina owners’ clubs – comprising Mark I, II and III – will use the show to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their car.
Visitors can also buy or sell a classic vehicle at the on-site auction on the Sunday. It will be managed by auctioneers Charterhouse of Sherborne, and accessed by separate catalogue only.
The show is open from 9.30am to 4pm on both days and adult tickets cost from £8. Accompanied U16s can enter free. Further information and tickets are available at www.bccsl.co.uk.
