LEADING automotive publisher Veloce Publishing, based at Poundbury, Dorchester, are celebrating 20 years of providing high-quality books.
Incorporated on September 1991 by Jude Brooks and Rod Grainger, initially the company was run in two rooms in a barn conversion in Godmanstone, Dorset, before moving to larger accommodation on the first and second floors of a town centre office over a nightclub in Dorchester.
Now Veloce is based in a purpose-built office/studio/warehouse/workshop on Prince Charles’s model estate, Poundbury, on the outskirts of Dorchester. The firm currently employs 16 people, and achieved extra prestige when it became the RAC’s official publishing partner in 2010.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary Veloce produced a YouTube interview video of co-founders Rod Grainger and Jude Brooks. In addition to archive photographs from Veloce’s history and a brief look around their offices, Rod and Jude talk about how Veloce got started, how it has progressed, the secret to its success, and what the future holds.
