Its look has been tweaked, not necessarily for the better, but the zapped-up version of the Punto Grande has been given some definite improvements, by all accounts.
The interior is smarter and the under-the-bonnet stuff is definitely uprated: this is the first Fiat to get the company’s highly praised MultiAir petrol engines, like the one that has been delighting Alfa Romeo fans with the MiTo.
The Evo, already on sale in the UK, has a choice of five engines, all with stop-start as standard, and five trim levels. On-the-road prices start at a fiver under £11k and end slightly north of £15k, which seems a bit steep for what is, after all, still a Punto.
MM verdict: zippy little character with no shortage of fans.
