It comes from the land of Dracula and Nicolae Ceausescu and it’s threatening to take a big bite out of the compact 4×4 market in the West. But will anyone buy a car called a Duster?
Well, they just might when they see it, try it and find out a bit about it. Dacia – pronounced Datcha – were bought up by Renault a while ago and business has been positively booming ever since.
The Duster is due to reach the British market in 2012, in 4×4 or 4×2 guise, is supposed to be an excellent, tough little all-terrain vehicle, has good road manners and could well carry a price label of less than £11k.
MM verdict: Duster as a cult? Stranger things have happened.
