This is the first model in Citroën’s new DS line, characterised by some snazzy, radical styling and being billed as the antidote to blandness.
The DS3 three-door supermini certainly looks the part. It’s due to reach the UK this spring and will boast a choice of three petrol and two diesel engines, three trim levels and a host of options aimed at personalising each car.
The manufacturers are talking up the car’s super-sharp looks, including a colour-contrasting ‘floating roof’ and fancy LED front lights, while the interior is a feast of leather and chrome. It’s one of the smallest cars in its class but with the largest boot space – clever.
The range starts with a 1.4 at £11,700 and finishes with a bells-and-whistles 1.6-litre DSport for £18,775.
MM verdict: French chic and a surefire winner.
