The next generation of BMW’s head-turning roadster goes on sale in May and will doubtless be as beautifully screwed together as we’ve come to expect.
It is the first of the Z series to come with a retractable hardtop, complete with glass rear window, and when raised it leaves enough boot space for a full set of golf clubs.
Making clear the likely pastime of its target audience, BMW helpfully point out that a hatch between the seats and a through-loading system provides space to stow a second set of clubs.
The new Z4 comes with a 2.5 or 3-litre engine, is electronically limited to 155mph and will be more economical than its predecessors.
MM verdict: lovely high-end roadster.
