Motor Mouth’s Car of the week: Bentley Continental Supersports

Only Premiership footballers, showbiz superstars and fat-pensioned former bank bosses will take more than an academic interest – for the rest of us the Continental Supersports is just the stuff of dreams.

This muscle-bound two-seater is the fastest, most powerful Bentley ever created, with an awesome 6-litre W12 twin-turbocharged engine capable of zooming it from a standstill to 60mph in an astonishing 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 204mph.

Bentley boast that it’s 110kg lighter than the Continental GT and their first model capable of running on both petrol and biofuel, pioneering the use of FlexFuel technology in the luxury sector. In case you’re interested, it’s due here in the autumn.

MM verdict: A beautiful irrelevance for people untouched by reality.
