Motor Mouth’s Car of the week: Toyota iQ

The shape of things to come? Toyota think so and, against a background of emission concerns, soaring fuel bills and congestion charges, they may just be on to something.

The iQ is under three metres in length but can carry three grown-ups and a child in comfort and it is due here next year.

Japan is rightly famed for its ability to miniaturise almost anything and the iQ comes loaded with space-saving tricks, such as a flat under-floor fuel tank, while its wheel-in-each-corner manoeuvrability should make it the ideal big-city transport.

MM verdict: a winning formula and cute to boot.
