Range Rover Evoque
LOOK closely – yes, it is a Range Rover, but not as we know it. Among myriad adjectives of praise regularly heaped on Range Rovers, the word ‘streamlined’ is not one that springs instantly to mind.
But, judging by the pictures that the company has chosen to release, the all-new Evoque is just that. It’s loaded with all the brand’s familiar strengths but it is a coupé destined to carry Range Rover into a new era and, in all probability, a new market.
Due to be marketed in more than 160 countries, the stylish and compact Evoque will mean the creation of 1,000 much-needed jobs at Halewood on Merseyside and will be available in both four-wheel-drive and two-wheel-drive configurations.
The car will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show on 30th September and hits the showrooms here next summer.
MM verdict: A surefire, sure-footed winner.
